Man oh Man... What a Week...
I have been a bad 'Social Media-ist' (yes, there is such a word in my world) this week.
It has been a HECTIC couple of weeks. I mean... HECTIC. Count those Capitals.
We have made the heart-breaking decision to leave our lovely pub...
Running a pub with 3 kids living here and 5 kids to support is no joke.. Family life = pretty much non-existent.
We spend a LOT of time shoo-ing them upstairs and a LOT of time moaning about how tired we are. It's no exaggeration when I say we are each currently working 70 hours a week. We've put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making this pub 'Your friendly Local' and have re-introduced yummy food, real ales, games, Hell - we even joined the crib team :) Basically, its a pub we would love to be OUR local.
However, our precious family comes first and so we made the decision to wave farewell to our gracious lady, and hope to pass her over to someone fabulous, someone who hopefully shares our vision, someone who will love her like we do.
We won't be too far away (we're moving into a lovely cottage about 8 doors up the road - Thank You Ali!) so we will be keeping an eye on the old place and still supporting our 'local'.
Phew... Between that and 5 kids here for half-term, its been one helluva bumpy week. I've been up with the dreaded migraine all night, and my house is ABSOLUTELY wrecked... Harrumph. But we've had some fun this week too. I shall tell you about that tomorrow.
For now, I'm going to enjoy a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit and get ready for the evening shift.
Have a lovely Evening my beautiful blog -readers,

Kids & Their '5-A-Day'
I'm going to be totally honest here. And I'm probably going to SHOCK at least half of you reading this post.
My kids LOVE their Veggies. They LOVE fruit... My youngest even claims she is 'allergic' to chocolate - because she doesnt like the taste. Don't get me wrong, they eat plenty of ice-cream/sweets etc, but I never battle to get them to eat their Fruit & Veg.
BUT...
I hear both in Real Life & in Blog World that a LOT of moms battle to get their kids to eat their Five-A-Day. So, I am going to share with you some tips and tricks. Then, YOU can share with US your tips and tricks, and we will even have a fantastic Giveaway!
1) Don't be SCARED to introduce them to new foods! Just put a little on the plate and ask them to try. Even if they didn't like it once before, you may be pleasantly surprised. :)
2) Bribery. I know. I am THAT mom. If you eat all your veg, you can have some ice-cream, or '2 more spoonfuls and you can go' It usually works and every little mouthful that goes into their tummies is a total achievement!
3) Buy 'EASY' veg! 100% NATURAL INGREDIENTS in Green Giant's Original Sweetcorn for example!
The fabulous people at Green Giant KNOW what we moms go through to keep our littlie's healthy and feeling good.. and have been helping moms here in the UK since the 60's, with their awesome product range.
Ho,Ho,Ho Green Giant!
Seriously... we eat a LOT of this in our house... We sneak it onto pizza, straight onto the plate, straight out of the tin, we have it at BBQ's, and I even make it into Sweet Bread which the kids love! We love this traditional South African 'Mielie' Bread so much, I am sharing the recipe with you on my Recipes page. I know - I'm cool like that.
4) Show kids WHERE the food comes from! We have spent time blackberry-picking, mushroom foraging, hazelnut picking, apple picking etc this summer and the kids are so intrigued to know where the food comes from and how it is made. I once asked Niamh "Where does meat come from lovey?" From Tesco's Mom... was the reply.... Help Me. But, trust me on this, if they GET INVOLVED in the purchase/preparation of food, they will be so much more keen to eat it! (or at least try!)
5) All moms are so busy these days, so - GET HELP!
The awesome people at Abel & Cole will DELIVER a fruit & veg box direct to your door and even supply you with FREE weekly recipes to keep your meals 'un-boring' as we say in our house.
So, lets chat. *pours a large glass of wine*
What are YOUR tips & tricks to helping your kids eat their '5-a-day?'
Post your comments, and one Lucky Commenter will WIN a delicious Abel & Cole Veg Box AND Green Giant products to try out all the tricks and tips. DEAL? DEAL!

BlogCamp Bristol - An Observation
So, on Thursday (yes... it was definitely Thursday) I attended BlogCamp Bristol. Kindly organised by Sally & her team from Tots100 .
There are many fabulous blog posts flying around about the awesome content & speakers, go HERE , HERE , HERE or HERE or just Search the Tweet Hashtag #blogcamp, and you'll be redirected to pure awesomeness.
So I thought I would give you my observation.
I WISH I had taken more pics, but after the debate about Internet Privacy and Blog Anonymity (oh my gosh there IS such a word) I decided to hold it to just a couple :)
So, Other Observations.... without pics
1) I LOVED MotherVenting 's green nail polish
2) I also wanted to speak to the lady in the silver sparkly hat - you can just see her in this pic above
3) I was imagining MummyWalker dressed as a Beaver for most of the train journey home
4) During RedRockets presentation, someone tweeted that they wanted to run up and rub Phil's bald head. I nearly choked on my stifled laughter.... waiting for a mummy to jump up and do just that.
5) I wore my high boots so looked & felt about 6 feet taller than everyone else. I'm a shortie really.
6) I wondered why I was trying to balance a huge banana on a plate for most of lunch.
7) I realised I love that I got my butt back into blogging and WANT my blog to be awesome.
8) I was Grateful for learning SO much, and for the awesome bloggers I am inspired by:
JennyontheSpot & MegDuerksen to name just 2.
9) I wished we had Name Badges - Constructive Criticism... I am not a fighter :)
10) I am Itching to sign up for the next one.
Huge Thanks to all involved who organised this event!

The Gallery - Colour
This week's prompt from Sticky Fingers is 'Colour'
I love this photo. It was taken at Dave's Sisters
I came SECOND in the Best Dressed competition. you cant see my hat here but it was the Twister spinning board thing on a headband, on my head. I loved it. Dave was of course worried I would get felt up all night. But I didn't. I just kept dancing
I'm pretty tipsy here, but check Vee's face in the background..... you and me both sister.
Haha - what a cool night. What a cool dress. What a cool picture.#

Discipline. And All That Jazz.
This is an actual argument conversation between me and my 11 year old darling daughter:
Me: "If you don't change your attitude, I will take your horse-riding lesson away"
Her: " I DONT CARE... TAKE IT! " (bear in mind here, this is most FAVOURITE thing in the world)
Me: " FINE! you have lost this week's riding"
Her: " I SAID.. I DON'T CARE!"
Me: " Say that again, and you lose 4 weeks worth of lessons."
Her: (in small sheepish voice) " I DONT care."
Me: " Right, That's IT! you've lost it now. FOUR whole weeks of no horse riding"
Her: " You just take EVERYTHING away from me. You want me to have a bad life. You hate me."
Me: " No, you LOST it because of your bad attitude!"
Her: " I HAVEN'T GOT ANY ATTITUDE....................AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!" (Stomps off and slams door)
Please tell me I am not alone in this frustrating, bad parenting scenario. For the record, this happened 4 weeks ago, she sat out her horse riding time, but her attitude didn't change - so no bloody use in taking the horse riding away!!
Just one more thing.
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
